NOTE: This section assumes you have a selection
of data stored from past transactions. If you have just recently started using SL
Sales Tracker you might not have this information built up yet. You can use test
data in this instance. To read about test data first (recommended)

The customizable summary page allows you to design a control HUD that gives you
real time access to your data in the way you want to see it. This is possible by
building a page from a set of pre-created building blocks called parts. Each part
can be placed and positioned on your summary page. Further each part has a number
of options that allow you to fine tune that part to display just the information
you wish to see. Take a look at the two examples below. The image outlines the Time
Period Aggregate and the Revenue History parts.

By following these simple steps you will be well on your way to creating a page
that is informative, helpful and a lot of fun to tinker with!
When you first create your account and view your summary page you’ll notice
there is not information on the page other then some yellow boxes, a bit of text
and a big arrow pointing up. The two yellow boxes represent a place where you will
eventually put your parts. (if you already have parts on your page but want to follow
this guide, please close those parts first) Your page will look something like the
following image.
Notice the blue “Add Content” link that the arrow is pointing to? That’s where you
access available parts to add to your page. Go ahead and click that link. When the
page reloads you will be presented with a catalog of available parts. Don’t worry
if your catalog looks differently then the one in this picture. New parts can and
often are added to expand services.
Notice that there are a number of different parts each with a check box next to
it. Place a check box next to the part you wish to add. For this example check the
parts Time Period Aggregates and Revenue History. Also notice you can direct where
the new parts will be added by selecting a column from the drop down near the add
button. For new leave column 1 selected and click add. Your first parts will be
added to the page! After the page reloads it will look like the following image.
After the page loads and you see your two new parts, go ahead and close the catalog
by clicking the close link or button inside the catalog. You can now reposition
your parts so that the information is presented to you in a manor of your choosing.
Moving a part for the first time can be a little tricky. One key thing to remember
is that you must click the caption of the part, hold your left mouse button and
drag your mouse to the new position you wish the part to sit at. The short animation
below might help you visualize how this process works. NOTE: When dragging notice
you can only drop a part when you see the little blue line appear where you will
be dropping the part. If you drop a part in any location where no blue line is present
the part will not move.
Now that you have repositioned your parts you can edit the specifics of each part
by configuring that parts options. To do this find the little down pointing triangle
in the top right corner of the part you wish to edit and click it. You will be shown
a menu much like the following image. Click the Edit menu item to open the parts
Editor Zone.
Every part has properties that can be edited. Many parts allow you to tune the specific
date range or the grouping of the data shown on the part. All parts allow you to
change the title shown on the part. Experiment with the available parts and their
editor zones to see what can be configured for each part. The part we are working
on is displayed below with its associated editor.
For this example change the period to group by from it’s current value to month.
Click the OK button on the editor and the editor zone will close and change the
parts grouping mode to month.
Congratulations! You have successfully
added and edited your first set of parts! Don’t be afraid to explore the other parts
and their available properties! And remember, if you have an idea of another part
that you’d like to use, contact us via the contact page. We might be able to get
you what you need.
